The 1,806 1971 Boss 351 produced were the last of the Boss Mustangs. This stunning example is documented with a Marti Report, Dealer Invoice and Build Sheet. Its original light Pewter Metallic color was changed to Candyapple Red in the early 80’s and it still sports its original configuration black comfort weave interior, in-dash tachometer, trio gauge package (oil pressure, ammeter & temperature), floor mounted console, Magnum 500 wheels and a rear deck spoiler. It just received new interior, wheels and tires as well as paint buffing and a complete engine compartment detail.
This Boss 351 was featured on the cover of the November 1987 issue of Mustang Times Magazine and was also featured in Super Ford Magazine that same year. The original numbers matching engine is .030 over with 12:1 forged pistons, a custom ground solid lifter cam from Race Cams, Inc. and a new set of Manley Valves in the original quenched chamber Boss heads. The original 4 speed top loader tranny was replaced with a big input shaft top loader out of a Torino. It still has it’s original N-case and 31 spline axle.
This beautiful fully documented 1971 Boss 351 looks, runs, sounds, drives & shows great and is a worthy addition to any collection.

Boss 351’s are powered by Ford’s rugged four-bolt main high performance version of the Ford 351 Cleveland small block engine, cranking out an underrated 330 hp (a rating of 40 hp more than the 69/70 Boss 302’s). As evidence of the underrating, Boss 351’s consistently outran big block cars with 20%+ more cubic inches and much higher horsepower ratings. Boss 351 cylinder heads feature poly-angle valves with generously configured ports and live on today in the current crop of Cleveland-evolved NASCAR heads.
