This Lemonwood Yellow 1966 Nova SS sports the 327cid/350hp engine (L-79), close ratio Muncie 4-Speed (M21) and 12-bolt positract 3.31:1 rear axle, and documented as correct by the original window sticker and protecto-plate. The L-79 TurboFire engine sported factory hardware that rivaled even the best stuff down at the local speed parts emporium: forged high compression pistons, a performance profile camshaft, big valve heads and an aluminum intake mounting a four barrel Holley. This engine option was only offered in a Nova in 1966, however, it is reported that six early 1967 Nova’s got out the door with an L-79 powerplant.
This rare and extremely desirable muscle car was recently part of Reggie Jackson’s collection (the title is signed by Reggie). The way it looks, runs and drives brings back its ‘60s nicknames - “Tarmac Terror” and “Mighty Mouse”.
